More and more people are falling in love with the benefits of a summer stay in the mountains. The three-countries region boasts lush green Alpine meadows, lakes, mountain peaks, new perspectives, and above all peace and relaxation. Hikers and bikers choose the village of Nauders as the ideal starting point for activities of a sporting, cultural and culinary nature.
Nauders is nearly too beautiful to even think about an excursion elsewhere in the region. Don’t worry though, you’ll be back in a few hours and it would be a shame not to see the variety the region has to offer. The daily schedule could include a detour to the spa town of Merano, the fashionable town of St. Moritz, shopping in the Samnaun duty-free region, or an excursion to the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck. For those hungry for culture, castles like Altfinstermünz, Sigmundseck, Burgeis or Churburg will whet the appetite for history. Meanwhile, the Ötzi museum in Bolzano, the Nauders fortress or the Naudersberg castle (just around the corner at the Arabella Aparthotel) won’t disappoint. We have detailed excursion tips ready for you on site!

Gaining altitude together
More than 300 km of marked hiking and mountain trails connect the Tiroler Oberland with the South Tyrolean Vinschgau Valley and the Swiss Engadine Valley. Choose from easy valley or leisurely mountain hikes, demanding trekking tours or high-Alpine expeditions. Pleasant side effects: healthy mountain air, delicious Alpine snacks and panoramic views with a wow effect wherever you turn. Tip: If the Tyrolean mountains in summer should be covered in clouds or rain, one need only select suitable clothing fit to defy any weather. Or you can hop in the car instead and make a quick dash to South Tyrol. In Mediterranean Meran, a Caffè latte under a palm trees awaits.

Deep down to its core, Arabella is actually a bike hotel. At least it has been ever since junior boss Christoph discovered his passion for downhill/freeride. This biker-friendly facility also has its dramatic setting to thank: 2,200 tour kilometres of paradise in the three-country bike arena. Exciting natural single trails meander through forests and gravelly terrain, and four cable cars and 35 kilometres of varied trails guarantee absolute flow. From Nauders, racing cyclists cross the most beautiful Alpine passes, while families can experience the picturesque Lake Resia as a holiday highlight. Our bike partner BIWAK provides bikes for hire and guided tours.
What could better strengthen the family ties than a journey of discovery together? At 2,180 m, directly next to the panorama restaurant Bergkastel in Nauders, the Erlebniswelt Goldwasser adventure park unites everything that makes children (and their parents) happy. Fun and games here are centred on a gold washing facility. Spray, dam and splash: Everything little treasure hunters enjoy is allowed here. Time flies as you enjoy attractions such as a themed adventure trail, a low ropes course, the wooden Nauderix labyrinth, a miners' hut, and the mysterious crystal cave.
