Christmas in Nauders – A Special Way to Celebrate
In Nauders, Christmas is celebrated in a truly unique way.
Here, we cherish traditions that make the holiday season something extraordinary. Many locals in Nauders choose their Christmas tree directly from the surrounding forests. While these trees may not boast the flawless perfection of a Nordmann fir, they exude a charm all their own – a true "tree of home" that fills living rooms with warmth and authenticity.
Maria Teresa and Christoph have also chosen a tree from the Martaness this year, the picturesque area where their Christmas tree grew. Christoph, together with his father-in-law, carried the tree by hand from the Martaness meadow back home. This tradition is not only a labor of love but also a source of joy and a deep connection to their roots.
However, the process is not always easy, as transporting the trees often becomes a logistical challenge. In Nauders, it's common to bring home several trees at once – ensuring that all family members can enjoy their own piece of home in their living rooms.
At the Arabella, the early snowfall brought us a magical winter wonderland, courtesy of Frau Holle, but it made transporting a tree impossible this year. Yet, the snow's enchanting beauty reminds us that Christmas is about so much more than a perfectly decorated tree. It's the joy, the togetherness, and the love that warms our hearts – even on the coldest winter days.
